Plant something special this spring! 

For over thirty years, Garden Plots have been provided and maintained by the Park District through our partnership with Commonwealth Edison.

The 20’ x 20’ garden plots are located east of Westgate Road adjacent to Terrace School between Thacker and Miller Streets. Plots will be plowed and made ready for planting as of May 1, weather permitting. In compliance with the Des Plaines Park District policy, animals (except seeing-eye dogs and service dogs) are prohibited in garden plot areas. All animals (including seeing-eye dogs and service dogs) in the pubic area are required by law to be leashed and cleaned up after.
No motorized vehicles are allowed on the bike path adjacent to the garden plots. 

In order to provide Garden Plots for as many people as possible, there is a strict two plot maximum per household.

Returning Renters: Registration for 2013
Registration for Return Renters will begin December 10, 2012 and end on February 22, 2013. Returning renters can only rent up to two of their previously rented plots per household. To reserve the plot(s) you rented in 2012, we must receive your registration form by February 22. Drop off the form, or mail it to: Garden Plot Rental, 2222 Birch Street, Des Plaines, IL 60018. If you would like a new plot site, registration is the same as for new renters.

New Resident Renters
Registration begins Monday, March 4, 8:30am, only at the Leisure Center (2222 Birch Street, Des Plaines 60018). Garden Plots are always issued on a first-come, first served basis.
Note: Proof of residency and age must be presented in order to receive resident and senior rates.

New Non-Resident Renters
Registration for non-residents begins Monday, March 18, 8:30am, only at the Leisure Center (2222 Birch Street, Des Plaines 60018). 

Garden Plot Fees for 2013

Fees have not changed from 2012

Residents: $30

Non-residents: $39 

Seniors, 60 years and older, receive a 50% discount on their fee.

Please remember, there is a strict two plot maximum per household.
